What a great holiday the 4th of July is. I always loved them growing up. Attending the parade, having a BBQ/picnic somewhere, being with family and finishing the perfect day off with fireworks and sparklers. We didn't get to attend a parade which I was pretty bummed about, but we spent the day enjoying the nature in this land we love.

It was a perfect day at Stinson Beach. I knew we needed to be there fairly early to stake our claim and we barely made it in time to snag a table and a BBQ pit. We had some good grub and then spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach. The boys built a sand fortress and played in the water. Mike & Heidi were with us so when I say boys I mean the daddies as well.

Matthew really gets into digging into the sand and he and Evan always have fun. Dallin and Jack had to take a break with a cat-nap and then we headed back to our house for games.

We missed the fireworks but we got to listen to them. Heidi and I took Evan and Austin out on a hunt for a sweet spot, but there are so many trees that when we finally did we managed to see the last one of the finale. Lame! It didn't make the day any less important. I'm so proud to be American and to have a family who has surely done their part in keeping us safe and free. Thanks Dad, Brett, Bruce, Barrett and soon to be Bradley. And to the rest of the great men and women of the past and today.

So fun! I wish there was a beach closer! My kids love it!
Evan has the same swim suit as Arwen! She thinks that's pretty cool!!
How did y'all get those babies to sleep next to eachother? Y'all are like supermom!!
That looks like a really fun time. I've always wanted to stick around here for the 4th. Maybe next year.
