Cross Country

Okay - I think I'm pretty much back to normal after our whirlwind of a trip. It was great! My dad rode the Greyhound into SF to drive us to my grandparents home just north of Vegas. We attended a cousins wedding in the St. George temple and spent lots of quality time with G&G Bishop and Grandma Bushman. We saw lots of family and the boys had a blast meeting new cousins and helping Grandpa Great plant his garden and drive his tractor.

They had so much fun being country boys. We drove as far as Tooele, UT and spent sometime with my big sis Bridgette and her family. Stayed the night there and finished the rest of the drive to Meridian. The day we got there was they day my parents were able to open their mission call. It was so fun to be there and I caught everything on tape. We hung out at home for a few days and spent time with my siblings that live there. We saw two new cousins that we hadn't met yet, Bo & Blake. I got to visit with a High School friend, Jenny Young, and get caught up on life. It was such a special treat. Then we drove to Idaho Falls and Blackfoot to attend another cousins wedding. The boys had more fun playing with cousins and I loved seeing lots of my family. We got to visit with Kristee & her kids. We hadn't met Charlie yet, she's a cutie. I was able to hook up with another High School friend I hadn't seen since graduation, Emily Carr, and that was great fun! After the wedding ceremony my dad and I loaded the boys up and drove back to San Francisco so we could be back for church and support Matthew. It was too quick of a trip, I guess because we spent so much time in the car. We figured we spent about 40+ hours in driving in 10 days. That's a lot of for 2 little boys, but they did awesome. It was so great to see so many members of my family. I love them so much and I'm so proud to be part of such a great bunch. We had to put Grandpa Icecream on the bus yesterday and the boys were sure sad to see him go. Thanks so much for everything you guys do for us Mom & Dad.

Where to begin?

Okay, first of all...I looooved the "tractor"....you need to bring your boys to Texas...I'll show them a REAL tractor. lol.

Why do boys love playing in dirt so much? Even when they "grow up"?

The green Shrek ooze on Dallin's face is too funny! Ahhhh....I'm only beginning to learn what road trips are like with kids. We drove 2,500 miles in 72 hours for my sister's baby's funeral when Ryan was 6 months old...honestly, I didn't know that was possible.

Bethany...do you have a minivan?!?!?!?!?!?! Have you joined the ranks of "mad moms in minivans"? Oh boy...the things I have ahead of me. lol. I'm glad you had such a good trip....you sure do have a sweet dad!

Sounds like such a fun trip being able to be with so much family! I need to make a trip up to Utah. Your dad is so nice to ride the bus all the way down to SF and back to help you drive! Tell your dad he rocks!

I actually thought the same thing Janette did about the minivan. For some reason, once you've got the minivan, you know you have truly arrived in life!!

p.s. you totally made me laugh with your comment. Instead of reading a good book you read the Beckham Blog! You're so funny. If only my life was that interesting.

I'm glad you had so much fun! Your dad is so AWESOME to come and help drive! That actually makes a nasty car trip not so bad!

The boys are darling, as usual! Since we cut Joshua's hair, I think he reminds me even more of Dallin. It's the same haircut--it even sticks up just like Dallin's! Is he walking yet?

All of the pictures are great! Thanks for the update!!

That looks a lot like our times with Grandma and Grandpa Perez in Oregon - tractor riding, 4 wheelin' and planting gardens! Country life is not at all like living near SF!!!

How fun! You are brave to be in the car that long! I am flying back to Boise with the kids and leaving the driving to Tom in a couple weeks. Whenever you are in Boise you better let me know!
