Big News!!!

A couple of fun things have happened as of late. I've been gone for the last 10 days traveling the countryside with the boys so I have a lot of cute pictures to share. But first I want to say congratulations to my parents. They got their mission call in the mail. I was fortunate enough to be in town and watch them open it and their surprised faces (or not so surprised) when they read that they will be spending the next 20 - 23 months in the Kenya Nairobi mission. Isn't that just wild! I say not so surprised because my mom, the sweet little dear, said she didn't want to go to Siberia or Africa. I guess the Lord just wanted to remind her how mindful he is of her by sending her to the place she didn't want to go. They're excited and it will be fun to hear about their great adventures!

Second, is that Matthew was put into the Bishopric today. He was pretty surprised, and I'll admit I was a bit too. I know he'll be great and that he will grow and develop and become even more amazing then he already his. I love him so much and I'm so proud of him. I know I don't tell him enough how wonderful of a father and husband he is. He's my bestest friend and there is no one I'd rather spend my days with. It's amazing how much our love has changed since the day we married. It just becomes deeper and richer with each trial and success that we experience together. Okay, enough of the cheesy love stuff, but I'm just really happy for him.

YEA for Africa! That's so cool!! Is that what the picture is of? Or is that SF? AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA. Just kidding.

Bethany, have fun with the bishopric thing and all the luck to Matthew! I don't know how those men do it. Honestly. Gary is only the financial ward clerk and he's gone for hours on Sunday doing tithing/fast offering stuff.....good thing we have a testimony of the work he does! I'm sure that Matthew will be GREAT....could they not find a busier student for the job or something? lol.

Congratulations are in order for your parents and for Matthew! Africa will be a mighty adventure for them. Do you think you'll make a trip to go visit them? Ever wanted to go to Nairobi? :)

Matthew will be great, partly because he has such a great wife to support him!!

Wow! Africa for your parents, awesome! I hate saying congrats for a church calling...it seems to add politics to a calling, which I don't think is appropriate. I am excited for your family to have the opportunity to serve the Lord, in any capacity! Love you guys!

I am so excited for your parents! I don't know much about the part of Africa they are going to but Drew and I loved the time we spent in Mozambique. If it's any consolation to your mother, the senior missionaries in Mozambique had a pretty posh house, all the ammenities they needed including air conditioning and a great pickup truck to get around it. I'd love to serve a mission there! Also, one of my best friends is living in Ghana right now and has has a terrific experience.

Wow! Lots of change for you Bethany! I had to chuckle a bit reading about your parents mission call. I drove home from the Post office with my call on the front seat, all the while praying, saying, "I'll go where you want me to go!" However, I remember distinctly thinking - please don't let it be TExas (super humid & hot!). Well, guess where I served?!! Houston, TX!! I learned to love it! AND huge congrats to Matt. You are such a great wife to support and love him through all this. Keep up the great work!!!
