Our Little Skeeter

Skeeter Syndrome: is a severe, localized allergic reaction to mosquito bites, consisting of inflammation and fever. It is caused by allergenic polypeptides in mosquito saliva and is therefore not contagious.

As a kid I remember getting some pretty big mosquito bites that itched like crazy. However, I never had anything like Big D gets. Seriously, the kid swells up like a balloon. We try our best to keep bug spray on hand at all times, but sometimes they're just too fast for us. I feel so awful every time he gets bitten because he ends up looking a lot like Quasimodo with swollen eyes and humps on his back. He even got a MEGA-Arm. The pictures don't seem to do it justice, but our D can sure get lumpy. We love him that way!

Lauren had the same reaction to mosquito bites. I think we're keeping the benadryl and band-aid people in business, although it hasn't been nearly as bad in Oregon as it was in Georgia!

Wow, that's impressive! I have to say the second to last picture of D totally reminds me of you - there's something about that expression that I feel I've seen it before . . .

Oh. My. Gosh. This looks miserable!! The one where his forehead is swollen sorta makes him look like E.T. Awesome.

HOLY COW! I had some issues like that as a kid, and still do a bit, but never THAT bad! OH, I feel horrible for the little guy!
