We set our new years resolutions for the year and Evan is hoping to a lose a few of those holiday pounds. I mean look at the kid, he's a total chunk!
Before school was back in session we took an enjoyable trip to the coast for the day. It was a little bit chilly but rather beautiful none the less.
You can't really tell but Evan had gathered himself some wood and was building a fire. He loves camping and anytime we ask him what he would like to do for a fun family outing his answer is always to go camping. He's a regular Survival Man!
We conquered the sea monster! Evan was pretty sure this thing was going to jump up and eat him, but Dallin tackled the beast and showed him who was boss.
Here is pretty cool tree they call the Octopus tree. It's pretty neat!
Of course we can't forget our monthly culture night. Can you guess what it was? It might have been a bit of a stretch but we still had a blast. These two are my favorite amigos!

I LOVE YOU! And love hearing about all the fun things your little family is always up to! I have NEVER seen such a HUGE blob of seaweed! That would freak me out :) Can't blame Evan :) Culture night, amigos with cowboy hats? Um, Mexican? I bet it was yummy, I was just thinking about the cooking you do for Matthew the other day, lucky family to have such a good mom...

wow what a GREAT sea weed monster! Way to subdue it Dallin and Evan! Did you make Valentine cookies? We did and Evan, it's Grandma and Grandpa Nielsen that need to work out, not you! We walk Shadow about 4 miles everyday but exercize alone isn't working - we gotta cut out the cookies :-(
That's funny, Evan and Sabrina have the same New Year's resolution... and me too, but I'm in a different category than those two. What fun on the beach. Can't wait to visit you guys.
I think those are two of the cutest caballeros I've ever seen! Very fun! We sure missed coming to see you guys the other day. Cyrus made sure and called on his way home to rub in what a great time they had! Next time for sure...
That is a cool Octopus tree. We miss the coast, and are glad you get to enjoy it once in a while. Tell Matt I said hello!
