My Chef Boy(ardee)

Evan loves to help me cook, always has. I think that's quite common for the first born child. What else is there to do when Mom's cooking dinner but be right in the middle of it all. It use to drive me crazy because I just wanted to get all done and I was always so worried that he would stick his finger in the beater or grab the hot pan. He's older now and loves it even more. I decided to embrace this interest in hopes that he will develop a real love for it and give me a night off every once in a while. Isn't that every mother's dream? He's getting the hang of things and is actually very helpful. I'm amazed at how just a little help from the fella makes such a huge difference. He's starting to take on some responsibility in doing his chores. He and Dallin help me empty the dishwasher. Evan does the silverware and cooking utensils while Dallin is in charge of the lids and tupperware. It's so cute to see them so serious about their jobs. I just can't believe how big they are getting. As I count down the days until we're finished with Dental School I'm also counting down the days before my little Evan starts Kindergarten. Wow!

Great idea! Currently, Nora is my official "go throw this in the garbage" girl. She's great at it. But, I haven't started any other tasks or chores for it. Thanks for the idea!

My kids are in charge of things in the dishwasher too! Noah loves to help cook...though I'm sure he's not quite as helpful as Evan yet! What a cute picture!

What a cute little helper. It is kind of fun having little hands in stuff, once you get used to it!!! Plus, my girls are great now, from all the years of putting up with not-very-helpful help.

I absolutely love that picture. It's going to be a family classic, I can tell :)
