STEAMBOAT SPRINGS
During fall break for the boys we snuck away to the mountains, to beautiful Steamboat Springs. It was quite the adventure to get there. We picked up Matthew from school so we got kind of a late start, and wouldn't you know it started to snow. The plows were out on the freeway, but once we turned off the main roads we encountered some exciting conditions. What was suppose to take 2 hours took about 4, but when we woke up the next day it was well worth the drive. We weren't exactly prepared for the snow, but we still managed a short hike to Fish Creek Falls. But mostly, we just snuggled up in our super warm room playing games, eating snacks and watching movies. It was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries. The WildlifeExperience
We have this super fun museum in our town that the boys are crazy about. It has this Globeology place where you walk around and see samples of all the different climates and see the various animals, insects and vegetation found all over the world. We had my cousin to show us around the boys were so excited they were running everywhere. We had to walk through it twice because they just loved all the animals. It was fascinating and I can only imagine what it was like through their little eyes. That is one of my absolute favorite things as a mother, giving my boys new experiences and seeing new places and watching their eyes just twinkle with delight and feel their excitement. I wouldn't trade the world for these little beasties.
Trick-or-Treat
I felt like Halloween just really snuck-up on us with all the other stuff in this Spooktacular month. We did manage to hit the Fall Festival at church and do some trunk-or-treating and Matthew took the boys out on Halloween to some of the houses in our neighborhood. Needless to say, we had more then enough candy for our little sweet teeth. Evan was an astronaut and Dallin a race-car driver.
