I've been attempting to hone my skills as a cake decorater. Not really enthusiastically, but I like to pretend that I can create. For my last big Enrichment Night at church we threw a Purse Party and just had a fun girly night with lots of pink. We wanted a purse cake from Baskin Robbins that was too expensive so I tried to creat my own purse cake. I was actually kind of proud of it since it was my first time working with fondent and the only thing I had time for was to buy a pack of already tinted fondent. So I had brown, tan, pink and black to work with and this is what I came up with. You really wanted to see it Becky Ann so here it is in all it's glory.
It looked a lot more realistic from far away, but for some reason I only took a few close-ups. I was happy to share it with Carolyn since it was her birthday the same day. I hope she enjoyed it!

Great Job! I remember the cute cakes you've done for your boys' birthdays too. I'd say you have a talent at it!
You are amazing!!! When you move up to Oregon (fingers, toes, and eyes crossed) you need to teach me the made cake building skill!!
...that would be MAD, not made...
Looks GREAT! You should keep on using that talent! :)
I am so impressed. I totally forgot about Enrichment Night when the time came, but was very intrigued to find out what the deal with the purses was. Very cute cake!
And congrats on the run! No wonder you are looking so fit these days.
Very impressive! Looks good enough to eat!
That is so awesome. I couldn't even tell. Oh the skills. :)
OH my word. I am stealing that pic and sending it into Martha. UNbelievable-especially for a first try! I'll be able to say I knew you when...
