Sunny Days - Chasing the Clouds Away

We have had some absolutely gorgeous weather lately and after all the rainfall everything is so green and beautiful. So, we decided to enjoy it while we can and went for a hike on Saturday. Mike, Heidi & boys came over to join us. We went up Mt. Tamalpias to this old outdoor theatre which looked really neat and would have been fun to attend back in the day. We just strolled around for a while drinking in the amazing views. We could see Mt. Diablo, Angel Island & the Bay, San Francisco and then the great big ocean. The pictures really don't do it justice. We sat there and watched this huge blanket of fog roll in to SF. It was just so beautiful! Evan and Austin have become the bestest of little buds and they had great fun exploring and getting dirty like little boys do.

Matthew's note: It really was a beautiful area that we hiked in, I really recommend it to anyone who comes out this way.

You need to click on the pictures and see them really big to enjoy some of the views!

Holy crap! That is beautiful! I can't believe you live there!! LUUUUUUUUUUUCKY! I think I'd almost cry...I cried in Hawaii once because it was so beautiful. You're so smart to spend all the time seeing the great places! If you want to go hiking in Texas, you hike over an overpass! lol.

Oh...it's so beautiful! Makes me wonder what in the heck I'm doing living in flat, brown, unexciting Texas. I'm thoroughly jealous, especially as I sit here at my work desk staring at nothing but the same 4 walls. =(

The place seems familiar to me, but I don’t ever remember seeing that theater before. Looks fun.

I have a picture of 6 month old Joseph at that location. You can see now, why dad and I wanted the family to hike Angel island at Christmas. Similar view but in the middle of everything. Now that dad is retired we'll have to go on that next hike w/ you guys.

love, grandma Nielsen
